I grew up in Northern Scotland with a natural affinity <\/span>for<\/span> adventure sport. I had quite a traditional \u2018apprenticeship\u2019 in that it started with the hills: snowboarding, fell running and carrying my mountain bike up local Munros. <\/span><\/p>\n When I went to University, summer trad climbing became the focus. Naturally, this segued into winter climbing too. I learned a lot during those formative years ..<\/span><\/p>\n My professional career began <\/span>in climbing walls and with local schools. I wanted to focus on climbing so moved to North Wales. Fast forward a few years and I\u2019ve \u2018settled down\u2019 here. <\/span><\/p>\n I now work part time within the instructional team at Plas y Brenin, the National Outdoor Centre and am qualified and insured to deliver all aspects of climbing and mountaineering on offer in the UK<\/span><\/span>. For the other half of the year I offer private coaching and guiding, based in North Wales.<\/span><\/p>\n I’m keen on all aspects of climbing – trad, bouldering, sport – summer and winter – and continue to find these activities immersive and rewarding. I’ve managed to sample a lot of the classic climbs our islands have to offer \u00a0and made a few first ascents along the way too.
